Tender Heart...

A two-year old heart breaks so easily. It starts with the bottom lip poking out, and a brave little face trying his hardest not to cry:
"They loved living here. But I can't let them stay.
Thy'll have to find food. And I hope that they may.
Good luck, boys," he cried. And he sent them away.
I, the Once-ler, felt sad
as I watchem them all go.
BUT...
business is business!
And business must grow
regardless of crummies in tummies, you know."

He made it through the bar-ba-loots, barely...
"And so," said the Lorax,
"-please pardon my cough-
they cannot live here.
So I'm sending them off.
Where will they go?...
I don't hopefully know.
They may have to fly for a month...or a year...
To escape from the somog you've smogged-up around here."

At this point, the brave little face lost it and couldn't hold it in anymore. He just started to cry. He was so sad for the sick birds. Note-at this point, I was just trying to hurry throught the book and look at the pictures, but he could tell from the sick bird faces that they were sick.

"You're glumping the pond where the Humming-Fish hummed!
No more can they hum, for their gills are all gummed.
So I'm sending them off. Oh, their future is dreary.
They'll walk on their fins and get woefully weary
in search of some water that isn't so smeary."

Note to self...The Lorax isn't a good bedtime story!

Such a tender little one! Sounds like it is time for a dose of Green Eggs and Ham!

Ha ha ha! Yes, that story is a lot longer than you expect, and quite dreary, even though it has a good message.
He's only two...he doesn't have to think about that yet! :)

Oh, so sad. That is adorable! I love our sensitive boys. No worries, Poppy makes up the difference.
